Davis James was born and raised in the metro Detroit area. His father, a classic rock radio DJ, brought good music into his life at a young age, and it became apparent early on that Davis could sing. In high school Davis started performing in choirs, musicals and as a solo artist, and his unique style began to take shape. This is also when he began writing songs. Sticking to his roots, Davis loves classic greats such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, and Jeff Beck.
