Michael Gilligan founded Fake Chapter Records in 1996. Although the label always focused on developing new artists, Gilligan would sometimes lend a hand to certain projects either as a songwriter or bass player. After years of being behind the scenes, Gilligan teamed up with Steve Piperno of Green To Think and other great artists to record an album of his songs, "Happy Songs About Death".
