"Dead-eyed punks The Carp cast gnarly hooks with their debut LP “Knock Your Block Off”. This Cleveland based 3-piece, consisting of members of Cruelster, Knowso, Perverts Again, and a laundry list of other fast and fried bands, strip away the extraneous minutia- distilling the music into a raw, visceral, no-frills mutant street punk offering. This record says something about the duality of man- harnessing blunt, goonish, and freaky 77 punk aesthetics and combining them with the densely cerebral, albeit, thuggish and strange lyrical prose.
