Copenhagen String Collective is a project of Henrik Dam Thomsen, a renowned Nordic cellist who has served as solo cellist with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra since 2000. Thomsen studied in Copenhagen, London, and Bloomington, Indiana, under celebrated cellists Morten Zeuthen and János Starker. His 2004 debut solo recording of works by Kodály and Britten, released by Chandos Records, received critical acclaim and a nomination for a Danish Music Award.
