SURREY UP! Lazarous is an emerging hip-hop artist from Surrey, BC. Inspired by the sounds of Kanye West, JAY-Z and Nas, Lazarous began recording tracks in 2018 with the aim of bringing a new sound to the Vancouver hip-hop scene. Lazarous creates flows that are filled with hunger and drive; he often draws from his family's experience as refugees who fled war-torn Sudan and built a better life for themselves through perseverance and hope. Using his novel life experiences as the backdrop to his music, Lazarous has etched out a unique lane in Vancouver's burgeoning hip-hop scene.
