Lorenzo Palacios Quispe, better known by his stage name Chacalón ("Big Jackal"), was a prominent Peruvian singer who rose to fame as the frontman of the chicha group Chacalón y la Nueva Crema. Born on April 26, 1950, in the city of Lima, Chacalón began his musical journey singing huaynos with his brother in local bars and restaurants.
