The Margarets formed in 1991 on the small island of Giske, Norway, when cousins Alex Rinde and Rune Berg started the band. Soon joined by another cousin, Ante Giskeødegård, as well as Kai Valderhaug and Ronnie MAG Larsen, they quickly gained attention, winning NRK P3’s first demo competition and earning national radio play. After a break due to studies and Rinde’s illness, they reunited in 1999 under the name Jupiter Starfish before reclaiming The Margarets. In 2001, they broke through with Rubber Rubbish, followed by the double A-side Alain Delon / Rubber Rubbish, which hit #2 on the chart...
