In 2006 brothers Meir and Natan Hamilton started writing songs together in Brooklyn. They recorded some early demos in the attic Noam Schatz (Mobius Band) converted into a lo-fi music studio, an experience which inspired the band’s name. After a few years honing their sound with a live group, most of the band members including Natan left to pursue other projects. With a new focus on writing and recording, Meir turned to Schatz, Joshua Schapiro, and Jeremy Steckel to record their debut EP Time Is Falling (2013).
