David Cohen began his musical career as a finger-pickin' folk guitarist, but his musical career changed considerably when in 1965 he met his mentor, composer/guitarist Don Peake. Cohen then became a Los Angeles studio musician, soloing on albums by Bobby Darin, Kenny Rogers, and the First Edition on styles that ranged from folk to electric, dobro and Motown. After several years in the studio scene, Cohen spread his musical wings by playing with country and rhythm & blues bands.
