Sobre The SWR Big Band
The SWR Big Band is a leading force of the genre. The band has been nominated several times for a Grammy Award as Best Large Ensemble, most recently in 2022 for the Charlie Parker tribute album Bird Lives with Magnus Lindgren and John Beasley. Beasley therefor won a Grammy for Best Arrangement (Scrapple From The Apple). A great honour in 2011, when it was the first German band ever suggested for the “Prêmio da Música Brasileira”, Brazil’s most important music award with "Bossarenova" with Paula Morelenbaum and Filo Machado.
