SOORKIA is a electronic-folk artist from Alice Springs. Growing up in Melbourne, she combines her Mauritian and Irish ancestry to create a lyrical alternative pop, mixing Mauritian inspired beats with the guitar, harp, dulcitone and violin. Her lyrics are inspired by her love of nature, spirituality and human relationships. Soorkia studied Contemporary Jazz in Melbourne before moving to the heart of the country, Alice Springs, where she teaches music, writes and records music with her producer and partner, Dave Crowe (Sing Hum Records).
