When house music, DJ, producer, and label boss Will Saul found himself collaborating more with other artists, he considered the music created more “album oriented” than his usual 12″ work and came up with the moniker Close to differentiate the material. Based out of London, Saul was working in Sony’s A&R department when, in 2003, he decided to leave to launch the house music label Simple with some friends.
