Showbiz is a Jakarta-based pop band formed by longtime friends Joseph Saryuf (instruments, backing vocals) and Merdi Leonardo (lead vocals). Their collaboration began in 2003, leading to two recorded songs—“Precious Time” (Merdi on vocals) and “What a Fool I’ve Been” (Joseph on vocals). These tracks were featured on Pop Shower, a 2004 indie pop compilation by Japan’s Quince Records. Following this, Joseph pursued music production with Sinjitos Collective while performing with Santamonica and Direct Action.
