Formed in the late '90s, alternative pop/rock quartet Ashtray Babyhead plays radio-friendly punk-pop tunes along the same lines as Weezer and the Get-Up Kids. With the help of producer Barry Poynter (the Adventures of Jet, Zao, the Juliana Theory), they recorded the punk-pop fueled O-Rama, distributed by Valmar Records in 1997. Their subsequent independent tours led to shows at the CMJ and ASCAP showcases in New York City, Nashville, and SXSW in Austin.
