Terry and Terry became friends because of having so much in common with their showbusiness history. They started singing in venues around Thanet, Kent. On the suggestion of mutual friends, they formed Suited and Booted with the idea of reviving variety in the Kent area, to sing various genres of music, including country, pop, rock and roll and reggae.
