APE AMP is a sludgy noise rock duo based in Bordeaux, France. Formed by two Russian musicians who fled their country in 2022, the band channels the rage and frustration of an endless search for a home that is lost forever. Both members of APE AMP were previously known in their local scene for their endeavors as guitar players — yet here, ironically, there are no guitars to be found: only heavily distorted bass pushed to the edge of listenability, chaotic drums, and heart-rending vocals, spiced with occasional synth experiments.
