Malcolm Griffiths

b. 29 September 1941, Barnet, Hertfordshire, England. In the early 60s Griffiths began a long association with Mike Westbrook, playing trombone in his band. Around this time he also studied at the London College of Music. During the years with Westbrook he also played in several other bands including a brief spell with Buddy Rich, long-lasting associations with John Surman and Stan Tracey, and he was in at the start of Chris McGregor’s Brotherhood Of Breath.
