Formed in 1980 during the post Punk, New Wave era, 3X, played the local bars and clubs in Southampton and the New Forest area, mixing up cover songs by The Jam, The Police and Squeeze with a sprinkling of their own self penned pop/rock tunes. A loyal following ensured a great night was had by all. One of the highlights for the Band was winning the Southern area heat of Battle of the Bands in 1982 at the Portsmouth Locarno, with the reward of recording an album track on RCA Record Label for the competition heat winners.
