New Rising Sun is a Belgian roots-rock band that started on the streets of Antwerp in 2007. What began as a chance encounter between singer-songwriter Dries Bongaerts and guitarist David Hermans, busking near the Cathedral, quickly grew into a shared musical vision grounded in storytelling, folk, blues, and rock. From the outset, the band focused on honest songwriting and organic arrangements, blending intimate acoustic passages with a rich full-band sound.
