Singer/songwriter Jenai grew up a small town girl with a dream in the backwoods of Idaho where she spent summers fishing and swimming. During the winter, music was the focus and Jenai would surround herself with her mother's record collection. She studied the works of Hank Williams, Billie Holiday, Bonnie Raitt, Carole King, Bobbie Gentry, and Janis Joplin. By the time Jenai graduated from high school, she had a serious plan for making music her life. She ventured to Seattle to attend the Cornish School of Music.
