Darkane was formed in Helsingborg, Sweden in 1998 with the mission to combine death and thrash metal with a big dose of both melody and technicality. The formation was quick, and a record deal was signed just as quickly. They found their singer in Uppsala, a city just north of the nation's capital, the same city where they would be recording their 1999 debut album “Rusted Angel” with producer Daniel Bergstrand.
