Steve was born in California and grew up in the Los Angeles area and began playing guitar at age 8. He later moved to the Bay Area and continued learning the guitar. Steve moved back to Southern California in the early ’70s to attend Azusa Pacific University, where he was involved in the music program. Steve had the privilege of studying music composition four years privately with Jai Josefs (author of “Writing Music for Hit Songs”) and later studying with Steve Seskin.
