Rachel Baldwin is a songwriter and performer based in Los Angeles, originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Baldwin's distinct sound is reminiscent of both classic American folk and the cheekiness of current female-fronted indie rock. In her songwriting she utilizes both literary allusion and biblical allegory, inspired by a love of modernist literature and a troubling religious upbringing. She often writes about tumultuous relationships, the interior world, or the occasional horror film. When she's not writing and performing, she is co-host at a weekly open mic in Silver Lake.
