Zachary Chang-Otañez (Zach C-O), a Bay Area native and student at Berklee College of Music, started playing music when he picked up the drums at age 3. He never had a teacher; he instead learned by ear, playing Foo Fighters and Coldplay songs with his dad on guitar. Zach later taught himself bass and guitar at age 11 and began writing songs. During his Junior year of high school, Zach started playing piano and taking vocal lessons.
