When I was in high school I decided I wanted to try to pick up the guitar. “Why not?” I thought, “Chicks dig it, guys think it’s badass, and I really love music so what do I have to lose?” I got myself an acoustic, signed up for some lessons, and started to learn the basics of music. I took my guitar to class one day hoping to get some encouragement (maybe even some praise?) from my fellow classmates. Unfortunately there was one girl there who, quite rudely, did exactly the opposite. She insisted that I was the worst guitarist she had ever met and that I never had any hope of getting better...
