Captain J. Wright makes nostalgic, adventurous indiesoul; novellistic, dream-like lyrics drenched in mid-century zeitgeist. Inspired by the music of soul and jazz, New Orleans and Jungle Book, the band pairs warm and fuzzy guitar tones with a dynamic rhythm section, topped off with a playful hint of psychedelia. Born out of shared a musical passion and friendship, the band believes in a close correlation between sound and image; their presence (both digitally and physically) aims to provide a look through the looking glass of Captain J.
