Vița de Vie, of the most appreciated Romanian alternative rock bands, was formed în 1996. The first record they put out is named “Rahova” and was released in 1997, after the band had already gone through some line-up changes. The year 1999 was the year Vița de Vie hit the jackpot, releasing their second album called „Fenomental”, which put the band in the limelight, the single “Basul și cu toba mare”, being to this day one of the best evergreen rock songs in Romanian music history.
