Thumb formed in Perth, Western Australia in 1994. Charles Chase (drums), Brendan Ewing (bass and vocals) and Andrew Ewing (guitar and vocals) started jamming in late 1993 after Chase responded to an ad in local music paper Xpress for a drummer into ‘The Beatles to Black Sabbath’. Influenced by the early 90s grunge sound, the band, originally known as Ash, debuted at the Charles Hotel supporting local metal legends iNFeCTeD. In 1995 the band released their first self-titled EP under the new name Thumb. The band toured to the UK in 1996 and released a second EP, Naked, upon their return. In 1...
