Starting from a shared hobby back in high school in Surabaya, vocalist Rendi Putra, lead guitarist Oktav, and drummer Nilo formed a band called West District together with some friends at the beginning of college on July 30, 2022. In early 2023, West District had their first performance at a school event as the closing act. Since then, West District has performed on many other stages at campus events, both as the main guest star and as a supporting act.
