Born and raised in Paterson, NJ, Jalisa Rey was always a determined kid. After high school she took a leap of faith and moved to California on her own with no connects, friends, or family there to help her. After a bumpy beginning, including getting gaslit and not having a place to stay for a few days (a story for another time), she settled in and got to work. Upon arriving in LA she made a decision to put as much time as possible into honing her craft as a singer/songwriter.
