Keepsake began in Arlington, Texas in 2018 with two friends Chris Jobe and Josh Raines drawing inspiration from previous bands such as Saosin, Armor for sleep, and Silverstein. The two had previously played with each other in multiple bands over the years. The band took a short break in 2021 to focus on writing new material and possibly expanding the members of the band. As time went on Keepsake found a kindred spirit on drums in Australia, hailing from Brisbane Matty Bertucci joined the band in 2021 and lent his talent, and unique brand of drumming.
