Kasem are an alternative rock band from Melbourne, Australia who formed in 2019. Original founders Tom (vocals and guitar) and Jake (percussion), first met as physiotherapist colleagues at a sports medicine clinic. They bonded over their inseparable psychodelic, indie rock and nineties grunge playlists at work and started jamming together in a beat-up backyard tin shed during lunch breaks. In 2020, Nicola (bass) and Rochelle (vocals and keys) soon joined the band adding some much needed ensemble, groove and lower frequency fence vibration for the surrounding neighbours.
