Jean L'héritier について

Lheritier was a student of Josquin and worked in Ferrara, Rome and perhaps even Florence where it is thoght that he had connections. Many of his compositions survive in numerous manuscripts starting in Italy but not limited to that geographical scope. The manuscripts also extend to France, Spain, Holland, Germany, Austria, Poland and Czechoslovakia. His primary genre was the motet though one chanson survives "Jan, petit Jan". Characteristics of his motets include consistent imitation offset by homophony for textual and structural reasons, arches that are evenly handled in the melodic line, ...
