Growing up in rural, Northern Illinois, though now residing in southeast Wisconsin, Tony John is an artist of eclectic influence. He cut his teeth in a metal band Apotheosis and made the transition into traditional American music. Influenced by the likes of Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, Roger Miller, Hank Williams, Hank Williams III, etc. He makes an odd mix of traditonal country, folk, and bluegrass, with the influences of his past in the Chicago metal scene.
