A hard-rock group formed by frontman A.M Saleem Abdul Majid in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia, Iklim launched in 1989 and released its debut album, Satu Kesan Abadi, in 1990. Boosted by the popularity of the lead single "Suci Dalam Debu," the platinum-selling Satu Kesan Abadi became one of the biggest Malaysian rock albums of the late twentieth century, with follow-up singles like "Hakikat Sebuah Cinta," "Satu Kesan Abadi," "Sandiwara Cinta Semusim Ammarah Bujang Kota," and "Seribu Penghargaan" all becoming hits not only in Malaysia, but in Indonesia, too.
