Southern rap duo Charlie Boy Gang (Deondre Thomas aka Pimpin Duke and Ronnie Welch aka Mechie Man) scored a huge regional dance hit during the early 2010s with "Beef It Up," an ode to cruising around the duo's hometown of Scottdale, Georgia. Initially formed as a five-member crew in 2008, the Gang began performing at open-mike events, gradually attracting attention from Atlanta's hip-hop scene.
