Sobre Mark Ermler
One of the most respected conductors of his generation of former Soviet artists, Mark Ermler conducted in concert halls and opera houses all over the world, from Seattle to Tokyo. He was well known for his performances and recordings of late Romantic Russian music, but has also recorded the works of the Estonian Arvo Pärt. Ermler studied at the Leningrad Conservatory, with Boris Khaikin as his conducting instructor, and attended rehearsals and performances of the Leningrad Philharmonic led by Evgeny Mravinsky as often as possible, learning much through observation of Mravinsky.
