Checkmate Yaw-G (formerly known as G-Way) is a hip-hop rapper and songwriter from St. Louis, MO. He grew up in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in north city St. Louis, Walnut Park. His passion for music was a big outlet for him growing up; which it helped him cope with his environment.
