It was all started when he was astonished by a prodigy in a classical piano concert that was held in Jakarta in 2007. Brought by his parents to the concert to see this young boy playing the piano and Lay was standing still throughout the concert by a sense of awe. Then he started to learn classical piano when he was 8, under auspices of a professor from Germany, and he was sent by his parents to Germany (Tübingen) to finish his course when he was merely 15.
