Roope Juola aka R Cut is a turntablist - a musician whose instrument is a record player. The jazz-funk band R Cut Trio, founded by Juola, has released the double single Boppin'/Breakin' in the spring of 2022, and later 2023 single Get Busy, in which the sound has been kept old-school. Bassist Joonas Tuuri and drummer Teppo Mäkynen play in the R Cut Trio. 8.11.2024, R Cut released avant-free/electronic jazz album called Space Jazz with saxophonist Esa Pietilä and jazz legend, guitarist Raoul Björkenheim. R Cut is also turntablist for the heavy metal band Roju.
