Chicano Producer Erick Garcia was born in Atlantic City NJ and later raised in the city of Minneapolis. obii was hooked on DJing and production at an early age. Launching the moniker Velvo and gaining the support from the likes of Skrillex, Diplo, Steve Aoki and others by releasing a host of bass powered dance records and playing shows and festivals across the United States. As his production skills grew Garcia starting venturing into his latin musical influences and pursuing new sounds leading to the launch of the obii project.
