João Rei Lobo, also known by his artist name Rei, is a musician and sound engineer from South Africa with Portuguese heritage. He began making music at the age of 13, using equipment given to him by a friend of his brother. He later learned to use FL Studio and became a sound engineer for local churches. He has a degree in Music Technology and is proficient in playing the piano, drums, and using hardware synthesizers.
