Mambo Melon from Cuneo (northwest Italy) was born as a duo in 2009. Gabriele Grosso (bass+samples) and Marco Bognanni (drums) after sharing their experiences in other bands, strongly wanted to have their own project, mixing electronics, synths, sound manipulation and powerful drumming. Inspired by the documentary "RIP!: A Remix Manifesto" about Girl Talk copy-left subculture, they decided to compose with a massive use of mashup samples together with live instrumets such as bass and drums.
