Phillimon Thulo was born in a humble home near Kroonstad in Free State, South Africa . He fell in love with music from a young age and acquired the name DrPhil as he was described as "The Music Doctor", and later became known as Dr Phil RSA. His fascination about mixing and making the crowd dance led him to starting his own podcast on Podomatic called Prescription Mix Podcast.
