Raivis Misjuns is a composer of contemporary classical music and a double bassist. His works are deeply inspired by human emotion, metaphor and poetry, exploring states of lyricism, tenderness and feeling. He composes instrumental, choral, and orchestral music, as well as works for musical theatre and opera. In 2025, he received the Musical Artist in Residence scholarship at the Arvo Pärt Centre. In the same year, he received commission from the Pēteris Vasks foundation presenting his new string trio “Nightbirds”.
