Sobre Tripmaster Monkey
In 1987 four skinny high schoolers set out to add their own chapter in the history of Midwest punk rock. Calling themselves Tripmaster Monkey (after the book, Tripmaster Monkey, by Maxine Hong Kingston), the group — with far more spirit than expertise — wrote songs that mixed new wave, punk, and garage-pop. They attracted a loyal following of likewise misfit Midwestern kids tired of the pop and classic rock that clogged the airwaves.
