Melody Ishikawa, known mononymously as Melody, was born on February 24, 1982, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is a Japanese American singer who began her career in music at the age of 19 after moving to Japan. Her initial steps into the industry involved working with record producer Tetsuya Komuro and signing with Toy's Factory. Melody debuted in February 2003 with the single "Dreamin' Away", which peaked at number 33 on the Oricon weekly charts.
