Martin Soul is the musical alias of Martin Calcagno. Born in Norwich, New York, but relocating and growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Martin had in interest in punk music and played in a high school band with childhood friends called, PAThetic. Soon after the bands dismissal in 2003, he then moved to Columbus, Ohio and started a new band with college friend, Ian Evans. Their friendship would eventually become "The Echo District".
