Born and raised in the twin island of Trinidad and Tobago, Chinaka's earliest memories of music came from her father's soft strums of his guitar, hums to sleep and records on Saturday mornings. Her love for music was innate and came naturally as she began singing in the church where her talent was nurtured. This then led to her performing at open mic shows throughout the country.
