I took my Doctoral Degree in Jazz piano at the prestigious Eastman School of Music, where I had to work really hard in order to achieve the institution’s level of excellence. While I was there studying Jazz, I took advantage to promote the music and culture of Brazil. My doctoral essay was entitled The musical thought of Egberto Gismonti in 7 Anéis for piano.
